Home Learning

At Telscombe Cliffs Primary School and Nursery, we want to give our students the best complete learning experience possible, and because of this, our Home Learning Strategy has been created following the feedback of students, parent/carers and staff. We want our Home Learning to be purposeful, engaging and motivational – we want to build on our students’ love of learning.
Expectations

At the beginning of each term, each year group will set 6 topic-based tasks for the students to complete, linked to our History/Geography focus, across the term and will submit one piece per week. This will be celebrated during the classes Home Learning lesson.

Maths

We also expect the children to be using Numbots (KS1) or Times Tables Rock Stars (KS2) weekly. There will also be one MyMaths task for Reception up to Year 5, which will be linked to prior learning, set weekly. This will be monitored and celebrated in the class homework session.Year 6 children will complete one test from their maths CGP book.

 Reading

For the reading homework, we are expecting children to be reading at least 3 times per week. This can either be using a class library book, or a book from home. This will be recorded in a reading record and then monitored and celebrated in the class homework session.Year 6 children will complete one test from their reading CGP book.

Topic

The topic-based tasks have been created to further deepen the students understanding of the in-class topics. Across the year, these tasks will include every subject and allow parents/carers to get an insight into the exciting content that the students are covering in school. One of these tasks will be set and submitted through Google Classroom.
