Important: School Governors Statement

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to let you know about some significant changes that will be taking place at the end of this school year.

As you will all be aware, the school is now officially a “Good” school as judged by Ofsted in July 2016.  We as governors know that the school is on the tip of outstanding and is in the strongest position it has been in for over 15 years.  We have wonderful children in our school and a dedicated team of staff who have all contributed immensely to the success of the school.

Due to their skills, experience and proven track records, Mr Vallier (Head teacher) and Mrs Maclaine (Deputy Head Teacher) have been offered positions within The Kemnal Academies Trust from September 2017.  Mr Vallier will be employed as a Senior Executive and Mrs Maclaine as an Associate Head teacher.

Unfortunately, this means that both Mr Vallier and Mrs Maclaine will be leaving Telscombe Cliffs Primary in July 2017 at the end of this school year.

As you may be aware, our other Deputy Mrs Campling is currently on maternity leave and Mrs Rigby our Assistant head will be on maternity leave in September.

What does this mean for Telscombe Cliffs School ?

The Governing Body are already underway in making plans to secure an interim leadership team for September.  This is our main priority in the short term in order to ensure that there is continuity for the children, staff and parents whilst the governing body look at the long term future management of the school.

I fully understand that any change can be unsettling and worrying, however I would like to reassure you all that the governing body will ensure that any decisions made will be in the best interests of the children and will follow the ethos of the school.

I would also reassure you that these changes will not in any way affect your child’s education.

I hope to be able to write to you all again in a few weeks’ time to confirm the interim leadership plans for September.  As soon as we have these plans in place, we will be starting to look at all the options available for the long term future management of the school in order to ensure that Telscombe continues on its success in providing the very best all round education for your children.

I will keep parents updated as appropriate.

In the meantime I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support.

Kind regards

Jenny Hill
Chair of Governors
On behalf of the full Governing Body
